A veteran of World War One died at Verdun in May 1916 but his spirit returns to the present day, and he is appalled by what he sees. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. It was supposed to be a land fit for heroes. Was the sacrifice worth it? Did he really lay down his life for this? Dulce et decorum Est was indeed a lie, and the eternal flame is extinguished forever. Lest we forget.
