Qingming, or Tomb Sweeping Day, is a day when the Chinese pay tribute to their long dead ancestors. Li Shao recalls his great grandfather’s life, building the Canadian Pacific Railroad in 1870 as part of the infamous coolie system. Li Shao works in a factory in Guangdong in present day China and draws parallel between him and his ancestor. Has anything really changed in the last 200 years?
